Pointers to make the best out of a Moderated Caucus
Moderated caucuses are an integral part of group discussions and decision-making processes. They provide a structured platform for participants to exchange ideas, negotiate, and find common ground. This less formal style of debate allows for a more unrestricted flow of ideas and exchange between delegates. It also promotes active engagement, constructive dialogue, and effective problem-solving. By maintaining order and facilitating inclusivity, moderated caucuses foster collaboration and enhance the overall quality of group interactions.
Participating in a Moderated Caucus:
Requesting for a moderated caucus is simple. Just remember to specify the topic, speaking time, and number of speakers! For example, "Motion for a moderated caucus on the duration of government patents, with a speaking time of 45 seconds per speaker."
Just keep in mind that if you propose the moderated caucus, you get the choice of speaking first or last. If you wish to participate in the moderated caucus, simply raise your placard when the Chair asks for delegates wishing to speak.
