Exploring the agenda

UN Women, the UN organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment worldwide, works with governments and civil society to implement gender-sensitive policies and programmes. Through encouragement and capacity-building efforts, it encourages women's leadership and involvement in areas such as economic empowerment and political decision-making. Furthermore, UN Women leads projects to eliminate violence against women and girls, address institutional impediments, and promote gender equality in order to create inclusive societies. Its multidimensional approach is to create situations in which all individuals, regardless of gender, are given equal opportunities and rights. Discussions about gender-biased laws, policies, and conduct of women are most usually related to forums or meetings addressing gender inequality and discrimination against women. These discussions involve examining legal frameworks and policies at national and international levels and advocating for fair treatment for women across various spheres of society, including education, employment, healthcare, and the justice system.
